If I ran a more traditional yo-yo company with a team of sponsored players, I would ask Trevor Boice to be team captain. His yoyoing embodies everything I believe good yoyoing should be. As a person he is genuinely kind and very funny.

I met Trevor through yoyo instagram almost 10 years ago. We quickly bonded over our shared love of The Best Show with Tom Scharpling and comedy writer Harris Wittels. Our friendship has transcended yoyos and I just enjoy hanging with the guy so when he visited last year and was a fan of the Slap Jr proto, offering him a signature colorway was a no brainer.

Trevor is a video game fan and based the blue/black theme of his edition on the Magnetite Dice from a game called Silksong. Trevor says:

“Silksong is one of my favorite games of all time. It has a large map that opens up slowly as you explore and progress through the game. As you gain abilities you can access areas that were inaccessible previously due to your inferior skills and weapons. Playing the game reminds me of what it’s like to learn yo-yo. You start out with nothing and see all these tricks that you wish you had access to, but aren’t yet able to connect the dots. As your trick library grows you start to string together previously unattainable combos because you learned something new that became the connective tissue. After a while everything comes together and you’ve have access to all these tricks that build off of each other.”

We gave the yo-yo an acid washed finish inspired by the classic 2010’s era yo-yo’s Trevor grew up with. Each yoyo is swirly and unique and they came out really cool looking.
